Recently I have become tired of my current grind on iPoker, the games are not getting any easier and I constantly run below EV. I have been looking at various rooms on the Microgaming network to see what’s offered there. There are several established names on the network – Ladbrokes, Unibet, Stan James and Purple Lounge (maybe not as well known) to name a few! As usual I plan to weigh up the pros and cons of Microgaming in this post.
One thing that really appeals to me is the Microgaming bonus which is available. On any skin I can get 30% rakeback (weekly paid which is cool) and a deposit bonus, so if I plough through a few skins my rakeback should be pretty high.
I took a look at the Microgaming software, which is important because if a sites software can put you on tilt then it is not worth playing! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looked, although after playing on iPoker for years literally anything is an improvement. It seems smooth, the cards look nice, and the hand histories are okay. I think that the only thing which I dislike is the lobby where you pick your games, but this is small and certainly liveable with. Also the maximum amount of tables there is 10, this is good because it should put off grinders and I never play over 8 tables anyway.
One thing about the Microgaming network which I have not mentioned yet is that a lot of their tables seem to be what’s known as “anonymous” tables. These are exactly as they sound – you cannot see the other players screen names and therefore cannot track hands etc. Personally I like this idea, although I’, not sure why as it is probably bad for the game and encourages cheating. I am not sure how it does this to be honest, but it must be easier to cheat on an anonymous table than on a regular one. The forum that I read regularly is full of people slamming these tables and asking other regulars not to start them, so maybe I will have to be unpopular amongst these guys!
I am going to wrap this up guys, hopefully I can find a nice Microgaming bonus and get started as soon as possible. I will report back as to how I find the games and whether or not I win any money!
